Electronics Distribution: The E-Commerce Revolution

Finally, the shopping cart revolution is beginning to take over the electronic component distribution industry.

At first it was the big players like Digi-key and Farnell etc, adding more and more design tools and content etc ultimatley driving the visitor to their respective shopping carts for online purchase. Now the flood gates are opening with both small non-franchised distributors to manufacturers direct re-designing their sites and adding product pages with shopping carts.
So where is this all heading? Imagine looking for a part, and within seconds seeing all the stock available from not just the major distributors, but the manufacturers direct and even non-franchised distributors all in one place, all ready and waiting for your prized click to their cart. It dosen't end there, how about if you could see who has the cheapest price?

OEMsecrets has spent the last three years working on a portal ready to accept the complicated data feeds which include millions of images, price breaks, manufacturer codes the list goes on.They then process these huge data feeds and display the exact information the user requires in an instant. What's more is they are providing all this information for to the user for free.

OEMsecrets.com is ready for this revolution:

Electronica 2012 Munich: Exhibitors and Visitors Driven Online

Electronica 2012 Munich: Exhibitors and Visitors Driven Online

YORK, England, October 9, 2012

OEMsecrets have created a "safe haven" online, where buyers are able to source electronic components from the industry's largest quality franchised distributors like Digi-Key and Avnet and manufacturers direct such as Microchip and Coilcraft. To further enhance their sourcing platform, OEMsecrets are now adding reputable non-franchised distributors onto the website to list their in-stock inventory. These suppliers are screened for quality and procedures are in place to ensure their inventory listed on OEMsecrets is in-stock only. OEMsecrets strictly do not list any "available" stock and do not post any inventory from China.

To help combat the counterfeit epidemic in the industry, OEMsecrets are working in concert with DAG (Distributors Advisory Group) who are working hard to educate the industry with regards to counterfeit electronics.

As Electronica 2012 quickly approaches, OEMsecrets are looking to grow their database of high-quality distributors to further enhance the website. OEMsecrets is free for all buyers to search with no restrictions; there is no sign-in process, which allows users to swiftly find and buy parts through the website: http://www.oemsecrets.com

Buyers want and expect more; they want live stock levels, pricing, packaging information like real sizes, etc. As more and more distributors move to online sales, OEMsecrets is linking users directly into the distributors' shopping carts, making for a fast and safe purchasing environment.

The focus for the manufacturers and distributors at Electronica will without doubt be a continuation of how to push their customers and products online from product catalogues to engineering news. OEMsecrets will continue to aid in this process, giving the buyers unbelievable value when using the site and distributors new OEM business through orders generated through OEMsecrets.

With over 90,000 electronics professionals expected to arrive in Munich for the Electronica exhibition in November, OEMsecrets is looking forward to new business transactions and contacts with distributors and buyers alike.

With over 15 million line items of inventory listed from the industry's most reputable franchised and independent distributors, OEMsecrets is generating a reputation as one of the fastest-growing component sourcing websites online. OEMsecrets is looking to add to this reputation at Electronica 2012. Anyone attending the show who is interested in meeting the OEMsecrets team should contact

Electronica Exhibition Munich 2012: Online Focus

Since Electronica 2010, the focus of catalogue distributors and manufacturers has changed significantly due to the driving growth of the online market. Again with over 90,000 electronics professionals expected to arrive in Munich for the show in November, one can expect to see changes to the mentality of the visitors and 2500+ exhibitors. With this is mind, will distributors and manufacturers be driving customers online at the show through discounted pricing or free delivery? The global distributors have transformed their sales strategies from catalogues to online sales, which highlights the fact that buyers want and expect more; they want live stock levels, pricing, packaging information like reel sizes etc.

Buyers and engineers alike now expect this level of online service and the emergence of price comparison websites such as OEMsecrets.com are equipped to cater for their every need. With live pricing and inventory levels from the industries largest franchised and independent distributors, purchasing professionals can drive down the costs of builds through swiftly locating electronic components. Furthermore, after finding the required parts, the buyer then has the capability of searching for the price needed to secure the order. This is made easy though shopping cart facilities on OEMsecrets.com which send the part directly into the distributors shopping cart ready for order. In consideration, it could be assumed that buyers visiting Electronica are more diligently aware of online buying from the online presence of DigiKey and Mouser, as well as through price comparison websites such as OEMsecrets.com.

Social networking sites will remain at the forefront of the promotional activities of exhibitors at the show. Will social media profiles on sites such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Google + play a more prominent role at Electronica than business cards with the accessibility of smart phones and tablets? Will visitors be rewarded for a 'like' on Facebook or a 'follow' on Twitter, and if so, how much is this worth? Are the social networking sites an appropriate platform for visitor feedback? All questions will soon be answered come November. Electronica never fails to disappoint and this year you can be sure to see a completely different mentality from all who will attend the show.
